Important Information:
Students must have a well-maintained, tuned acoustic piano at home. Electronic pianos and keyboards are not accepted.
Intial interview process will begin during the summer with both parent and student.
Students are expected to remain enrolled for the entire first year (full school year commitment).
Tuition is paid in full at the beginning of the year and is non-refundable.
Why Duo Lessons?
Sayuri believes the first year of piano study is foundational. The early elementary years are an ideal time to begin, as young students are naturally creative, adaptable, and responsive.
Duo lessons provide a fun, engaging environment where students can learn alongside a peer. Since piano playing is complex, learning together helps build motivation and enjoyment while focusing on essential skills such as:
Proper hand position
Finger technique
Tone production
Intervallic reading
Rhythm study

Private Lessons with Beginner (Grade 3 and up)
While ages 5–8 are often considered an ideal time to begin piano study, older beginners bring different strengths. They may understand musical concepts more quickly, but adjusting to the physical coordination of piano playing can take time.
Students also tend to have more defined learning styles and habits. Private lessons allow for more personalized instruction, helping each student progress efficiently and confidently.
