Requirement: Acoustic Piano
Students must have a well-maintained acoustic piano to enroll in Sayuri Piano Academy.
Why is an acoustic piano important?
While digital pianos are convenient and accessible, The true piano artistry can be developed on an acoustic instrument more effectively. Acoustic pianos allow students to fully experience tone production, touch sensitivity, and nuanced musical expression.
Learning to play the piano is a meaningful and enriching experience that supports both mental and artistic growth. If we learn to play, we should strive to play beautifully.
A grand piano is ideal; however, a quality upright piano is acceptable. Proper technique and musicianship cannot be fully developed on an electronic instrument. The piano must be tuned at least once a year with good keys action and pedals functioning properly. Sayuri can refer great piano technicians for piano tuning.
Students without an acoustic piano may be referred to other teachers who accept students with electric piano.
Practice: Students must maintain good practice routine at home. It is expected to learn assigned materials before the next lesson.
